First, please keep your posts about relevant stuff. This is not a personal diary, journal, or class facebook page. Secondly, please respect each others' posts. You are allowed to disagree with each other when you comment, but do so in a respectful, not hurtful, manner. Finally, I want you to take ownership of this blog. I will post questions or assigned entries from time to time, but I have made all of you administrators so that you too can create your own posts.
So enough talk...let's begin!...first blog question to you: what do you think of this? Crazy idea? Lame? Intriguing? Please let me know, I'd love to hear some feedback!
This idea is......no comment
ReplyDeleteAt least it's better than having
homework and doing pointless stuff
This is an interesting idea... Posting entries to answer questions seems like fun.
ReplyDeleteA different view on the standard school day at Whitney High School. The idea sounds scary at first, but after the hardest step I think the experience will be very enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteBetter than HW, thats for sure
ReplyDeleteThis is really something to get used to, but it's worth a try. :) It's def faster and easier though.
ReplyDeleteHOLA :D
ReplyDeleteI think that this idea will be a successful one..... if taken seriously.
ReplyDeleteThis idea is great idea and fun way of learning that I've seen with the movie "Dead Poet's Society". That was really interesting and worked out well, except the fact that it was movie and it was with the college level students. I'm not sure whether it is great idea for 8th graders who might not be immature about this and abuse these factors. Except those factors, I'm excited about this way of learning.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely something new. I think it's great, the experiment. Many teachers think that their traditional way of teaching is the best way, and because they think that, they don't open up their minds and they don't think about trying to open up their eyes to more efficient methods of teaching. This blog could, of course, crash. I believe we, as students, should try to adapt to this new style of teaching, and since it's over blogging and um, more "modern" means of communication, I really think we should try not to screw this one up. Honestly, I'm overexcited to see a small change in our educational paradigm, and I believe that, if we, as students, can put aside our inner trolls, this'll turn out to be a great new teaching method.
ReplyDeletei think it's pretty good, seeing how many of us spend time on the computer and it would be easier to navigate to a webpage and type a few things instead of rummaging through books and papers and flipping through textbooks to get work done! thanks for being a hip teacher mr. harp. =]
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a new appporach in teaching as well as in learning compared to the traditional classroom way. It sounded crazy and a little funky, at first, but only because this is something that we've never tried before. It's a great idea. I'm actually really excited and I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeletewho's kate?
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that we're guinea pigs :] and also how we can openly express our ideas and thoughts. Usually most of us wouldn't bother to talk about history outside of class, so this blog provides a way for us to frankly show what our ideas and thoughts are of certain topics. I miss homework, kinda, because it keeps me aware of what's going on in class, but this is nice too :] Finally a break from homework :D
