YOLO!!!

For the sake of showing my pride in the side agree with, I would jump at any opportunity to defend my beliefs. If I was a farmer, I would want to do something else with my boring life. (you only live once, right?) I know that it may not be that fun to be in the army. But the everyday routine of training hard in necessary to insure that you will not take a bullet in the chest the second you step on the battlefield. The training is supposed to make you uncomfortable because that is how you will feel when your fighting. Though my family may be worried for my life while I'm gone, they will know that I am fighting for them so that eases the worrying a bit. For me, to die fighting for something you believe in is something to be proud of. I know that even if I die on the battlefield I would have gained glory for my family by my act of valor.

  1. I believe that most people join the military for the reasons above, but there are other reasons other than pride and wanting adventure. Reasons like morality and wanting to defend your country and its people. The risk of death was a major factor, but also the risk of surviving was also a factor in the war

  2. First of all, I'm proud of your courage whoever you are. The war and glory, however, is nothing once you die in battle. The family will be proud of you getting killed, but you have to think that there will be more sorrow than proudness (?) of your death. You also have to realize that After YOLO, there is YOYO too. You Only Live Once, and then You're On Your Own. Do you honestly want to be in danger of you getting killed just for the fun and pride? Leaving all the loved ones behind? I wouldn't unless you believe in some kind of afterlife and you know that you will meet them afterlife. Anyways, I don't think your reasons are good enough for people to join army and risk their lives.

  3. I'm awed by your enthusiasm to join. I'm not sure if the enthusiasm will stay if you actually went into war though. Motivation's definitely a good thing, but when people start dying around you, things start to change and "YOLO" will be nothing but four letters.
